Lucky 13
Boa noite meus amigos! Just a bit more eye candy for everyone this week. This stuff is coming from Christmas break when I went further north than I’ve ever been in this country… and then waited a bit over a week before I decided to grab a standby flight and jump further south than I’ve ever been – not only in this country but the entire world.
Now that I think about that, it was actually a pretty cool way to bring in the new year: toasting with four Nebraska friends while standing the furthest south on planet Earth that anyone in my family has ever been. It’s funny – I usually take some very intentional time to reflect and be alone at each new year. Not to mention whenever I fly to the other side of the world… so I guess there’s a LOT of things I’ve done a bit differently in the last few weeks, right?
Anyway, all of that was preceded by bringing in a new Mayan baktun with some trees that may easily be older than Christianity. And then followed by spending the first day of 2013 in the middle of a giant, beautiful, sunny, French volcano crater. There are plenty of worse ways that I could be spending my time…

Hey, thanks Rachel! I just wish a camera could do a better job with some of this stuff, you know?
